Course Overview

This qualification reflects the role of a trade-qualified bricklayer, blocklayer, or paver working across residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects. Students develop the practical skills required to carry out masonry work, including bricklaying, blocklaying, paving, and specialised areas such as heritage and refractory construction.

Delivery Modes

Course Completion

To achieve this qualification, students must demonstrate competency in all required units. This includes completing 20 core units and 8 elective units as per packaging rules. Successful completion results in a nationally recognised trade qualification.

Assessment

Assessment is competency-based and involves practical demonstrations, workplace tasks, and knowledge-based activities. Students must prove their ability to perform masonry tasks in real or simulated construction environments to industry standards.
